ADOLPH SCHREYER

Adolph Schreyer was born in Frankfurt, Germany in 1828. He studied at the Staedel Institute, and then later at the Dusseldorf Academy. He visited Stuttgart and Munich briefly before settling in Vienna in 1849. Adolph Schreyer was a member of the Amsterdam and Rotterdam Academies. In his compositions, which typically include Russian or Arab horsemen.

Schreyer traveled in France and North Africa extensively, and then settled in Paris in 1867, where he remained for three years. In 1871, he returned to Frankfurt. He died in Cronberg, Germany in 1899.
