CHARLES STANLEY REINHART
1844-1896Charles Stanley Reinhart was a well known painter and illustrator, perhaps most famous for the work he did while engaged as an illustrator for “Harper’s Magazine”. He was born in Pittsburgh, studied in Paris and at the Royal Academy in Munich. He lived in New York City for much of his life, where he was a member of the prestigious Tile Club.
Reinhart exhibited at the National Academy of Design in New York, the Brooklyn Art Association, the Boston Art Club, the Paris Salon, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (gold medal winner), and the 1889 Paris Universal Exposition, where he was awarded a medal.
Reinhart’s artworks are represented in museum collections throughout the United States.
