FREDERICK M. DUMOND
1867-1927Frederick Melville Dumond was born in 1867 in Rochester, New York. He studied with Boulanger, Benjamin-Constant, Lefebvre, Cormon, Laurens, and Doucet in Paris. His specialties were the animals and the desert of the American Southwest, where he painted from 1909-12. He also homesteaded in the Mojave Desert in 1913. He exhibited at the Paris Salon and at the Pan-Pacific Expo in San Francisco and died in California in 1927.
