GRANVILLE PERKINS
1830-1895Granville Perkins was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1830. He studied drawing and painting in Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania Academy of Art with James Hamilton.
Perkins is best know for his scenic landscape and marine paintings but was also a prolific book illustrator. He exhibited many times at the National Academy of Design between 1861 and 1883.
He was a member of the American Watercolor Society and his work is among collections at the Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic, Connecticut, and the Peabody Museum in Salem, Massachusetts.
Granville Perkins died in 1895 in New York City.
