HUGO BREUL

Hugo Breul was born in Saalfield, Germany in 1854. While still in Germany, he studied painting with O. Seitz and Lindenschmidt. He studied at the Academie Julienne in Paris under Boulanger and Lefebvre, and later went to New York, where he was a student of William Merritt Chase’s. Breul later had his own studio in Providence.
