KERRY JAMESON
British, b. 1969Kerry Jameson was born in London, England in 1969. Jameson creates unique animal sculptures, mainly of dogs. The pieces are hand coiled, modelled and carved. She enjoys playing with proportions, over-emphasizing heads, shortening legs, and simplifying lines. She layers her glazes, experimenting with methods of application. Her pieces are humorous, but never sentimental.
Jameson attended Central St. Martins College of Art and Design from 1989-92, and Kensington and Chelsea Colleges from1995-1996. She was awarded the Fletcher Challenge Ceramic Award, Auckland, New Zealand in 1994, the Crafts Council Setting-up Grant in 1996, and the New Exhibitors Prize at the Chelsea Crafts Fair, London in 1997.
