MABEL HOOPER LA FARGE
1875-1944Painter and writer Mabel Hooper LaFarge (Mrs. Bancel) was born in 1875 and studied with John LaFarge. She resided in Connecticut, where she exhibited at the New Haven PCC in 1927. She contributed the article “A Niece’s Memories” in Letters to a Niece by Henry Adams and penned “John La Farge, the Artist” for Commonweal Magazine.
