WILLIAM DOUGLAS
British, 1780-1832Born in England in 1780, William Douglas was a painter of miniatures. He became court painter to Prince Leopold of Saxony-Cobourg-Gotha, who became the first king of the Belgians under the name of Léopold I. Douglas’ work was exhibited from 1818 to 1826 at the Royal Academy in London. He died in 1832.
