WILLIAM FORMBY HALSALL

William Formby Halsall was born in 1841 in Kirkdale, England, but worked mainly in Provincetown and Boston, Massachusetts. After a seven-year stint as a sailor, he studied with W.E. Norton in Boston in 1860, and at the Lowell Institute from 1862 to 1870. Halsall was a member of the Boston Art Club, where he exhibited his work from 1879 to 1906. He died in 1919.
